What is a CSA?
A Community Supported Agriculture program, or CSA, is a relationship between farmers and a community of members, or shareholders, where the shareholders receive their food directly from the farmers, and provide the farmers with direct financing through advance purchase of products delivered over the harvest season.  Shareholders contribute to the financial health of independent, sustainable farms, and gain a personal connection to the food, the land on which it was raised, and the people who cared for it.

About our CSA
Unlike other beef and pork CSAs or buying clubs, our beef and pork shareholders truly get a "share" - shareholders collectively purchase whole animals in advance of harvest.  The beef from a steer is shared eight ways, and a the pork from a pig is shared four ways.  Together, shareholders receive all of the cuts from their animal.  (The exception is organ meat such as tongue, heart, liver and oxtail.  If you would like these cuts, please specify on your order form.)  The exact weight of each animal will vary.  We work closely with our butcher to ensure that the cuts are distributed equitably among shareholders.

We make CSA deliveries to Seattle 7 times a year, on the second Sunday in October, November, December, March, May, July, and September. 

2008-2009 Season Prices

Beef: one-eighth of a steer -  approximately 50 lbs of dry-aged beef; approximately 6-8 lbs per delivery; $350 + $45 delivery fee

Pork: one-quarter of a pig - approximately 30 lbs of pork; approximately 4-6 lbs per delivery; $280 + $35 delivery fee

Chicken: 7 chickens - approximately 4-6 lbs each; one chicken per delivery; $175  + $35 delivery fee

Turkey: 1 turkey, delivered in November; order a broad breasted white for $75 + $15 delivery fee, or heritage breed for $95 + $15 delivery fee

Eggs: 7 dozen eggs, one dozen per delivery; $49 + $9 delivery fee, due to limited availability, egg shares are available only with purchase of a beef, pork, chicken or turkey share.
